Term: Initially 2 months with potential for extension
Rate: £30.77 per hour Umbrella
Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week
Location: Fully remote
Role Overview:
As a Benefits Assessment Officer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and making decisions on Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction awards for working age and pension age claims. Your daily tasks will involve processing new claims, CIC's, VEP's, ATLAS and HBAA reviews.
A key part of your role will be to assist customers with rent and/or council tax liabilities who are experiencing additional financial hardships by handling applications for discretionary help. Your work will be instrumental in ensuring our commitment to serving our community's most vulnerable members and facilitating their access to crucial services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining and making decisions on Housing Benefit & Council Tax Reduction awards.
- Processing new claims, change in circumstances (CIC's), VEP's, ATLAS & HBAA reviews.
- Assisting with applications for discretionary help from customers experiencing financial hardships.
Essential Requirements:
- Proficiency with Capita One (Academy) system.
- A minimum of 5+ years of Housing Benefit/Council Tax Support decision-making experience.
- Experience in conducting Discretionary Housing Payments and income & expenditure assessments.
